Safe and Sound Protocol and services

What is the Safe and Sound Protocol?

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a gentle, music-based therapy designed to help your nervous system feel safer, calmer, and more balanced. Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the creator of Polyvagal Theory, SSP uses specially filtered music to help your brain and body respond to stress in a healthier way.

Many people find SSP helpful for reducing anxiety, overwhelm, trauma symptoms, sound sensitivity, and emotional reactivity. It’s also great for improving focus, social connection, and emotional regulation.

This science-backed program is easy to use — you simply listen to calming music through headphones, either in my office or at home with guidance. It’s safe for both children and adults, and it works well alongside other forms of therapy.

If you’re looking for a gentle, evidence-based way to support your mental health and feel more in control, the Safe and Sound Protocol could be a powerful next step.
